Tea gardens in Kangra, ancient temples like Chamunda Devi and Chintpurni, Masroor rock-cut 10th century AD temples, Kangra Fort, sulfur springs, flowing rivers, dense forests, snow mountains, and glaciers provide rare experiences like amazing side valleys Does. Triund Trek Difficulty Level

The Triund trek is located in the Dhauladhar Himalayas at an altitude of about 2850 meters. A 360-degree view of the majestic mountains of the Himalayas can be seen comfortably by going to the zero points of the trek. The distance of the trek is approximately 16 kilometers return from Bhagsunag. The level of trekking is moderate to difficult. If you are an early-stage backpacker, you can choose Triund. Take care of your fitness while trekking.

Best Time and Season to Visit Triund Trek, Dharamshala

Dharamshala is an 8 months trekking destination! March to June and then September to December are the best time to visit Dharamshala, the weather is pleasant in this season and the temperature is moderate. 

There are many treks in Dharamshala and near Dharamshala, before which you need to know the exact time and season, including Kareri Lake, Triund Trek, Baleni Pass, etc. If you want to go on a trek or camping trip then this would be the best time for you. Dharamshala has a winter season from December to February. In the winter season, one can experience the snow and the snow-capped mountains.

Summer: The temperature in summer is between 10 ° C to 35 ° C. Unlike other parts of the country, Dharamshala weather is very pleasant and ideal for engaging in adventure activities like paragliding and mountain activities. These days are the best time to go on a round trip. Apart from this, you can do many trekking and hiking. Flowers start blooming in this season, which adds to the beauty of Dharamshala.

Monsoon season: July to mid-September - This season is not the right time to visit Dharamshala as there is heavy rainfall during this season. Visiting Dharamshala in this season can affect the plans due to heavy rains and tourists may have to stay in their hotels the entire time.

Winter Season: The temperature in winters is between 0 ° C to 15 ° C. The winter season is a good time to visit Dharamshala with crystal clear blue skies. In Dharamsala, snowfall occurs around December until February. Here you will get spectacular views of the snow-capped mountains from winter to summer. How to Reach Triund Trek, Dharamahala

The Triund trek is close to Dharamshala and Mcleodganj. Dharamshala is well connected through its extensive network of flights, buses, and trains. The nearest airport is Gaggal Airport, also known as Kangra Airport. If you travel by train, you can book your tickets to Pathankot railway station, which is about 85 km from Dharamshala town. Apart from this, there are many interstate and state buses from nearby cities and towns to Dharamshala.

By Air: Gaggal Airport is about 15 km from the city center, it is the main domestic airport of Dharamshala. Airlines such as Air India Regional and SpiceJet have regular flights from places like Delhi and Chandigarh. From outside the airport, you can easily get a taxi and bus for the Triund trek.

By Train: The nearest railway station to reach Dharamshala is Pathankot, which is 88 km from Dharamshala. There are regular train services, which gives you great connectivity. From outside the railway station, you can easily take a taxi or bus to reach anywhere in Dharamshala or Mcleodganj. 
By Road: Dharamshala is well connected by buses well connected to all parts of India... Many Volvo, luxury, and sleeper buses are available at Dharamshala at regular intervals from cities like Delhi, Shimla, Chandigarh, Jalandhar, and Amritsar. You can get direct buses from these cities.

Itinerary

Day

1

A Short Day Hike Bhagsu to Naddi Village/ Visit Norbulingka & Kora Walk
Dharamshala

Walking Distance: 6 km
Walking Duration: 3 hours ( Half day)
Rating: Easy leveled walk through forest trails and villages.

Highlights: Village life, nature walk, meditation trail, Himalayan birds, etc.

Description:
After breakfast at Hotel, you start walking. In less than two minutes' time, you enter a dense forest of cedar trees. A short ascent will take you to Dharamkot Village from where it is leveled and walk through tall deodar trees.

In the middle of the walk, you see some Buddhist meditation huts and a Buddhist stupa where old Tibetan monks live and practice mediation in the middle of the jungle.

We continue our walk and reach Naddi village from where you have a wonderful view of the peaks of the Dhauladhar mountain range. Walking through the village we reach a road-head.

Your car can pick you up here and drive to lower Dharamshala to visit Norbulingka, a Tibetan center for learning traditional Tibetan art and craft. At Norbulingka, you can visit various workshops where you see artists making different kinds of traditional artifacts. The Doll Museum and Buddhist temple at Norbulingka are worth visiting. Norling Café at Norbulingka serves good Tibetan food, fresh juices, and cakes.

Afternoon drive back to Mcleod Ganj where we can take you for a Kora Walk- a holy trail around the temple and residence of H.H. Dalai Lama. During this 40 minutes walk you see old Tibetan people spinning prayer wheels and chanting holy mantras while they move on this holy trail.

Kora walk is usually followed by a visit to H.H. Dalai Lama Temple. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

2

Full Day Hike to Guna Devi
Dharamshala

Walking Distance: km 12 km
Walking Duration: 6 hours ( Full day required)
Rating: Moderate level hike with a leveled walk for the first few km and then steep ascent for the last part. The trail goes through forests and villages.

Highlights: Village life, nature walk, view of peaks of Dhauladhar mountain, Himalayan birds, etc.

Description: After breakfast at the hotel you start walking. It is a beautiful walk through the forest for an hour to reach Naddi village.

Continue to walk for another hour to reach the Bated river from where it is a steep ascent for another two hours to reach Guna Devi, a small Hindu temple in the middle of the forest.

From Guna Devi, you have a beautiful view of the Bhimghasturi pass in the Dhauladhar mountain range. Walk back on the same trail up to Naddi village where your driver will be waiting for you to drive back to your hotel.

Full-Day Hike to Triund
Triund

Walking Distance = 16 km
Walking Duration: 8 to 9 Hours
Rating: Difficult
Best Time: March to June & September to December
Highlights: Close view of the peaks of Dhauladhar Mountain range on one side and valley view from the top.

Description: We suggest having an early breakfast. Start walking from Bhagsu Nag. It is a steep ascent for an hour and a half to reach Galu Devi. From Galu Devi, it is a gradual ascent for the next two hours and then the last part for half an hour is again a steep ascent.

At Triund we are just above the tree line (2875 m). Triund is an alpine meadow from where you have a superb closer view of the peaks of Dhauladhar mountain range on one side and Kangra valley on the other.

Spend some time up at Triund. There is a possibility of taking a different route on the way back from Triund via Laheta and it is a steep downhill walk for another three hours to reach Bhagsu waterfall. The hike ends at Bhagsu village. Check-in your hotel.

  • It will be deemed that the booking & payment policy is accepted by the clients while making bookings with the first deposit amount. 
  • If the client is forced to cancel the booking prior to departure, the cancellation policy will be followed.
  • In case of any delay beyond our control, the client will have to bear extra cost for the extra days as per the option is chosen on per day basis.
  • Please note and be well informed that there will be no refund of money after the package commences and if one cannot complete the activity or gets sick enroute. 
  • The cost is for the entire package and there would be no refunds in case any part of the package is not availed.

  2. The booking is accepted on the understanding that you realize the potential risks and hazards that can be involved in the holidays of this kind. The organizer along with our leaders/guides and anyone else working in association with us cannot be held responsible for any death, accident or mishap that may occur in connection with any part of, or services connected with the holiday.

Before the guests come on a holiday, they must be covered by insurance, which has to include the cost of helicopter rescue, evacuation and cost of repatriation if they become too ill to continue. It is recommended that travel insurance should cover adventure activities undertaken. We can help you in case required
