Overview

Iceland Christmas Tour Package

If you want to celebrate your Christmas holidays in a wonderful way, then you should pay more attention to Iceland. This is an escorted tour program that takes you through the Icelandic countryside to celebrate your Christmas holidays in a casual way. This program is available for up to 40 people, so we recommend you book as soon as possible.

Explore Reykjav?k, the lunar landscape of the Reykjanes Peninsula, and the Golden Circle route with Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss Waterfall, and Geysir Hot Springs. Travel to South Iceland, a region brimming with glaciers, waterfalls and black lava beaches. Of course, cold days also include a warm and relaxing soak in the famous Blue Lagoon.

The majority of events in Iceland are primarily based in Reykjav?k, which includes top-class hotels and gourmet restaurants. As an offbeat option, we offer a casual Christmas adventure where you stay in simple hotels and cottages in Reykjav?k and South Iceland. All rooms with private bathroom.

We spend two nights on this wonderful tour in the village of Hela in South Iceland, where you will find an amazing experience in the Icelandic countryside where people celebrate Christmas. We promise that even at a casual event, the food and drinks will be delicious. But have we mentioned the northern lights yet? The Hela Village residences are set in a large dark garden where it is easy to see the Northern Lights, also known as the Aurora Borealis, when the weather conditions are right.

Our expert tour guides provide you with some facts about the northern lights, and give you some tips on how to photograph this natural phenomenon. On 26 December, the event includes a fine meal at a culinary restaurant in Reykjav?k.
We look forward to celebrating Christmas with you in the Icelandic countryside!

Reykjanes Peninsula, Blue Lagoon & Christmas Celebration
Reykjavík

You will be met at 09:00 am by your tour guide, who shows the group the spirit of Christmas in the capital and the Reykjanes Peninsula with moon-like landscapes, mountains, hot springs, cliffs, fishing villages, and lighthouses. After a long day of travel we end the day by soaking up our journey in the warm blue waters of the famous Blue Lagoon. We stay for two nights in simple cottages in South Iceland.

In the evening we celebrate Christmas the Icelandic way. Before dinner, we join a guided bus tour to view the Christmas lights in the villages of Hvolsv?llur and Hella. The origins of traditional Christmas lights date back to the Middle Ages when people needed to keep their homes lit during the winter solstice. In Iceland, the tradition finds its roots in pagan Old Norse beliefs, when people would keep a fire alive inside the central pit of a Viking longhouse to keep out the darkness of the winter solstice.

Your festive 4-course dinner starts around 19:30 and is served at ?rh?s restaurant located by the river in Hella, a small village in South Iceland. Drink a toast of sparkling wine to enjoy a truly special Christmas celebration. Naturally, once darkness falls, you're out in the garden waiting for the northern lights.

Overnight Location: Aarhus Cottage or Hotel Straka (cozy version), Hella or similar. Breakfast and festive 4-course dinner included (220km / 137mi)

Today we will travel further to the South Coast. In we reach the area below Eyjafjallaj?kull volcano and glacier. We stop at Seljalandsfoss waterfall and visit the Skogar Folk Museum with early modern Icelandic turf houses. At lunch, we head to the Sk?garfoss waterfall.

After lunch we continue our journey into South Iceland where we walk the famous black lava beach at Reynisfjara, inspect the cape of Dirhhole and the Reynisdranger sea cliffs before visiting the charming village of Vik Huh.

If the night is clear, and you're lucky, you might see the northern lights moving across the sky in a wild and reckless dance of dramatic shapes, colors, patterns and sizes. Which will be an incredible experience of your life.
