Overview

Ice Cave Iceland Tour

This journey takes you to some of the most spectacular places in Iceland. In addition, we will take you on a hunt for the fascinating Northern Lights. The highlights include the famous Geysir, the unique glacial lagoon J?kuls?rl?n, and much more. The tour is scheduled to maximise your chance of seeing the Northern Lights. Please note that we cannot guarantee the Northern Lights, as they are a natural phenomenon that can be unpredictable.

Ice Cave in Iceland

Iceland is home to ice caves, with all glacier ice runways forming natural ice caves. The blue snow-covered view of the caves is mesmerizing. Most of the ice caves are found in the southern region of Iceland. When you find yourself inside a natural Blue Ice Cave, this tour is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that you might never find again. At present, due to climate change, glaciers are melting, and travel time is also getting shorter.

Glaciers cover 11% of the total surface of Iceland. Iceland is also known as the Land of Ice and Fire because of its glaciers and volcanoes. Nature and landscape make a huge impact in Iceland. The smaller glaciers that paint beneath the larger glacier also provide incredible natural beauty.

Highlights

  • Discover the Iceland Golden Circle & Sky Lagoon
  • Explore attractions like Thingvellir National Park, Rift Valley, and Great Geyser.
  • South Coast of Iceland tour

SOUTH COAST OF ICELAND TOUR
reykjavik

Duration: 10.5 Hours/09:00 AM
Meeting Location: Pick up & drop at the hotel

Follow the North Atlantic coastline from Reykjav?k into the volcanic and glacier-covered wonderland that is Iceland's south coast. Walk behind the thundering veil of water at Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, take in the incredible views from the top of Sk?gar Waterfall, stand on the world-famous black sand beach at Reynisfjara, and visit the charming coastal village of V?k.

The tour starts with a drive through lava fields, right by the actively volcanic Hengill mountain, and then down to the rich coastline farmland. On clear days you will see Hekla Volcano and in the distance, the glacier-capped Eyjafjallaj?kull Volcano will rise majestically above the coastal mountains at its base. Just a few kilometers off the coastline and easily visible are the volcanic Westman Islands, an archipelago of around 15 small islands, one of which is inhabited.

Our first stop is at Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, which is every photographer?s dream. The powerful Atlantic waves crashing on the black sands, the jagged basalt sea stacks, and the huge basalt-column cave are a sight to simply take your breath away.

After being amazed by the power of the sea in Reynisfjara Beach we will head on to V?k. The village of V?k is the southernmost village in Iceland, located on the main ring road around the island. Despite its small size (291 inhabitants), it is the largest settlement within 70 km.

On our way back to Reykjav?k, we stop by the powerful Sk?gafoss Waterfall where a short walk up a flight of steps will reveal one of Iceland's most scenic views that includes glaciers, volcanoes, and black sandy beaches.
We then stop at the 60-metre-high Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, famous for the hidden pathway behind and around it. Visiting the natural treasures of the South Coast should be on your Iceland Top Five.

VISIT SNAEFELLSNES NATIONAL PARK
reykjavik

Duration- 12 Hrs./8 AM/ Pick up point- BS? Bus Terminal

The Sn?fellsnes peninsula in the West of Iceland is almost like a miniature version of the entire island. The area has beautiful samples of some of the natural wonders Iceland is famous for. This includes black beaches, magnificent mountains, volcanic craters, incredible birdlife, magical caves, and the most picturesque glacier of them all, Sn?fellsj?kull.

Volcanoes & Villages
This tour stops at the small fishing village of Arnarstapi and provides real insight into quintessential volcanic craters. Along the way, you?ll get great views of the iconic Kirkjufell mountain, and the dark cliffs and black sand of Dj?pal?nssandur bay are a favourite among photographers.

The Star of the Show
In the middle of this beautiful peninsula sits Sn?fellsj?kull, the stunning glacier that has captured people?s imaginations worldwide. One is Jules Verne, who began his Journey to the Centre of the Earth at Sn?fellsj?kull glacier. The tour offers numerous views of this beautiful landmark. It is, after all, the real star of the show.

Borgarnes
is a town located on a peninsula at the shore of Borgarfj?r?ur in Iceland and is the largest town in the Borgarbygg? municipality, with a population of about 3750 residents. Here we make our first small stop and will be able to buy small snacks, which we recommend for the long trip.

Ytri Tunga
A small golden sand beach is known for its wildlife and common sightings of Harbour and Gray Seals.

Arnarstapi
A Fishing village, founding and being since 1565 a trading post of the Danish Crown and a seat of Viceroyalty in the region until the 19th century. Birdlife and unique rock formations can be found across the village?s shores. A Statue of B?r?ur Sn?fells?ss ? a legendary half-human, half-ogre from the Icelandic Sagas is prominently displayed.

Dj?pal?nssandur
A black sand beach near the foot of Sn?fellsj?kull Glacier. Rusted remains of the British trawler Epine (Grimsby) litter the coast after wrecking on the cliffs nearby on March 13, 1948. Four lifting stones can also be found here as a test of strength among the locals. The Fullsterkur stone weighs 154kg, H?lfsterkur weighs 100kg, H?lfdr?ttingur at 54 kg, and Aml??i at 23kg. To be considered fit to work on the boats that once populated the beach, a successful lift of H?lfdr?ttingur was the minimum weight required to at least hip height.

H?lah?lar
A crater formation is home to mythical hidden-people legends and elves.

?lafsv?k
A small town on the northern side of the Sn?fellsnes Peninsula. Here we have a short break and can use the facilities.

Kirkjufell
A lonesome cathedral-like mountain overlooking the town of Grundarfj?r?ur
