About Nagaland Hornbill Festival Tour

The Nagaland tribe warmly celebrates their pageant which is full of vigour and color. More than 60% of the population of Nagaland depends upon agriculture, so the maximum of their festivals revolve around agricultural development. 

But they don't forget their gala's to be spared which are sacred, so taking part in those festivals is essential. One can inspire interplay among the tribes and promote the cultural historical past of Nagaland and the Nagaland authorities arrange a hornbill pageant every year in the first week of December 

The Hornbill festival is organized supported by the ministry of tourism, arts, and lifestyle and shows diverse cultures below the roof. This festival, show, and competition is generally held in Kohima from December 1st to 10th once in 12 months.

The Hornbill festival is held inside the Naga heritage village in Kisama, about 12 kilometers away from Kohima. All tribes of Nagaland participate in this pageant. The motive of the pageant is to revive and preserve the wealthy arts and culture of Nagaland people and display its rare traditions. 

For travelers, this suggests having deeper information about the Naga human beings and way of life in Nagaland with the possibility to revel in the cuisine, songs, dances, and customs of Naga people


Hornbill Festival Date Every Year Dates

Hornbill is the name of a bird, which is considered a symbol of 'honor' and 'folklore' among the Nagas. The fair of the Hornbill begins on 1 December and it runs throughout the week. from 1 to 10 December every year.

Foreign tourists must obtain an Inner Line Permit from the local government to participate in the Hornibal Festival.

1

Arrive Guwahati
Guwahati

After Arriving at Guwahati Airport, after receiving a warm welcome, we will drive to Guwahati City. After entering Guwahati City, we will visit the Kamakhya Temple, the most powerful temple in Assam. After the temple, we will drive to the hotel and check in. Leisure and overnight stays will be in Guwahati.

Drive to Kaziranga National Park (230 Kms / 5 Hrs approx)

Today after breakfast we will drive to Sualkuchi village ? a silk weaving village of Assam (30 kms from Guwahati), where you will be shown the weaving process in the traditional loom by a local weaver in his house, after exploring for some more time we will head towards to Kaziranga National Park (05 hrs drive), on reaching Kaziranga we will check into hotel, evening will be at leisure, dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in Kaziranga.

Kaziranga National Park Activities

Today, you will go for a safari and elephant ride in the national park. Go for an elephant ride in the early morning (time 5:00 AM / 06:00 AM / 7:00 AM), then return to the lodge, after breakfast, go to the Jeep Safari Park (time 8:00 AM / 9:00 AM) and return after the hike To the hotel, stayed for 03 hours. After lunch and refreshments, take a Jeep Safari 02? hours in the west/central area of ??the park (time 2:00 AM / 3:00 AM) (also depends on sunset, because winter is sunset, early sunset in northeastern India). air. Overnight stay will be in Kaziranga.

Drive to Jorhat (110 Kms / 3 Hrs approx)

After breakfast today, drive to Majuli (drive 03 hours), arrive at Nimati Ghat, take a ferry 1.30hrs across the mighty Brahmaputra River, arrive at Majuli, explore the island, visit the Vaishnavites monastery, and in Kamalakara, Uttar Pradesh Uttar Kamalabari Satra (Uttar Kamalabari Satra) enjoy the traditional Satriya dance performance, you can also visit the famous mask making monastery (Samaguri satra), and later we will drive to Kamalabari Ghat and cross the Brahmaputra River to Jorhat. Have leisure time in the evening and spend the night in a tea house.

Drive to Kohima (200 Kms / 7 Hrs approx)
Kohima

Drive to Kohima early today (06 hours drive). After arriving at Kohima, we will go directly to the venue of the Hornbill Festival. Enjoy a day there. Lunch will be a traditional venue. Later we will drive back to Kohima and check into the hotel. Our overnight stay will be in Kohima.

Great Hornbill Festival

After breakfast today, we will drive to the site of the Great Hornbill Festival (Kisema Village) (14 kilometers) to explore this festival. The local resident Naga has dances, songs and many performances belonging to different tribes. Enjoy local food, then drive to Kohima and stay overnight.

Great Hornbill Festival

Today, after an early breakfast, we will drive to Kigwema village (a very old village during World War II) to explore the village and visit the traditional Angami tribal houses. Then we will drive to the site of the Hornbill Festival. We will visit all In the place of the traditional house of the tribe, you can also enjoy different dance performances of the tribe, taste the local cuisine of the Naga tribe, and then drive to Kohima and check in at the hotel and overnight.

Drive Kohima - Dimapur Departure Flight (78 Kms / 2:30 Hrs approx)

After breakfast today, we will drive to Dimapur Airport and continue to our destination.

Notice less than 45-31 days:  50% cost will be deducted
Notice less than  30 days:    No Refund

Note: No refund will be given to people who are unable to complete the trip or abandon it due to any reasons.

  • If the client is forced to cancel the booking prior to departure, the cancellation policy will be followed.
  • In case of any delay beyond our control, the client will have to bear extra cost for the extra days as per the option is chosen on per day basis.

The organizer along with our leaders/guides and anyone else working in association with us cannot be held responsible for any death, accident or mishap that may occur in connection with any part of, or services connected with the holiday.

Before the guests come on a holiday, they must be covered by insurance, which has to include the cost of helicopter rescue, evacuation and cost of repatriation if they become too ill to continue.
