Overview

Greenland Cruise

A truly breathtaking experience begins here! Our Greenland photo tours are carefully designed by our local Inuit guides and our professional photographers. With our passion and knowledge about Greenland, we will bring you the most authentic experiences. Our teammates will share with you all we know about Greenland!

We have been running legendary Greenland photo tours for years, visiting the vast Arctic ice sheet and places with magnificent landscapes, enormous icebergs, glistening glaciers, majestic peaks, remote settlements, and amazing Arctic fauna ? whales, seals, Arctic hares, musk oxen, and polar bears ? as well as the most spectacular natural wonder: the Northern Lights.

We specialize in small group photography with the best guest-to-photographer ratio to ensure the best experiences for our guests. Our trips are aimed at everyone with a passion for exploring Greenland with like-minded individuals on a comfortable boat cruise...

In the Arctic autumn, the changing colors of the Arctic flora and the dazzling aurora borealis are so beautiful. The 8-day tour will let you enjoy so many majestic ice fjords and stunning peaks of South Greenland. You will have plenty of time to take many incredible photos and enjoy the super beauty of the Arctic scenery in South Greenland.

Blissfully scenic South Greenland is far more than you thought - magnificent fjords, dazzling blue icebergs, remote settlements, majestic mountain peaks, and magical northern lights, etc, allowing you to capture the unique beauty of South Greenland from multiple angles. On our journey, we will visit several Greenland settlements and the magnificent Prins Christian Sund and Tasermiut Fjord in far South Greenland.

Tasermiut Fjord, with a flurry of sky-high mountains and their reflections in the still waters of the fjord, is home to some of the best ?mountain walls in the world. It is rated as one of the ten wonders of the Arctic by Lonely Planet. The beauty of the surrounding area of Tasermiut Fjord will impress you. It is a perfect location for photographing great photos.

Prins Christian Sund, located on the southernmost tip of Greenland, is awe-inspiring, with its rugged beauty of narrow passages, dramatic rock formations, steep fjords, drifting ice floes, and towering glaciers. Marvel at the icy landscape, where snow-capped mountain peaks loom in the distance and blue-white glaciers shine in the afternoon light, is delightful. We may spot white-beaked dolphins and whales.

September and October are the best time to visit South Greenland when Northern Lights are appearing in the Arctic sky again. This tour is suitable for everyone. No photography experiences are required. Our photographer will be your lecturer in the field to make sure you can shoot the best photos of the kind. And one thing is for sure, we?ll take you to the best locations and help you to create a catalog of inspiring photographs you'll be proud of.

After a briefing session for the daily program and safety regulations organized by our guide, we will set off towards our first stop, Tasermiut Fjord, and shall arrive before sunset. We will enjoy the magnificent fjord sunset, and if the sky is clear, we can spot the Northern Lights.

Day

Tasermiut Fjord
Tasermiut Fjord

We will sail deep into the beautiful Tasermiut fjord. The fjord?s landscapes are a symphony of grandly chiseled mountains interspersed with relatively lush U-shaped valleys. Famous for its mountains and challenging granite walls, the fjord is home to some of the best "big walls" for serious climbers and is rated as one of the top ten wonders of the Arctic.

During the trip, we will explore three spectacular mountains - Ketil, Ulamertorssuaq, and Tinitertuup. The Ulamertorsuaq(1858m) is one of the steepest granite walls in the world, surpassing El Capitan in Yosemite. The Nalumasortoq (2045 meters) is shaped like an open book in which two pages are 900 meters tall and with overhanging wall sections and, the huge granite pyramid of the Ketil (2,003 meters). This is a holy place for rock climbers.

Day

3

Tasermiut Fjord
Tasermiut Fjord

Sailing deep into the fjord makes you feel like you have entered a fantasy. We will sail up until we reach the end of the fjord. A huge 1,400-meter-high glacier pours down from the top of the mountain, which stretches from high up into the fjord, forming a spectacular ice wall.

Day

Tasermiut Fjord
Tasermiut Fjord

We'll have plenty of time to take photos in the spectacular fjord and its majestic peaks! We will land at various locations and the guide will take you to the best viewpoints, with ample time to take photos. It is absolutely one of the most unique and spectacular places in Greenland.

Prince Christian Sound

Over the next two days, we'll sail through the breathtaking Prins Christian Sund.

Prins Christian Sund is a channel that stretches over 60km long with more glacier noses, several fine waterfalls, and a parade of half a dozen rounded tipped peaks lining the southern flank of its most picturesque western end. This is a photographer paradise for its glaciers, icebergs, and a variety of wildlife.

During the days, our guide will take you ashore for hiking for the best viewpoints that offer awe-inspiring panoramic views of the surrounding fjords, where large icebergs drifting away from the Greenland icesheet. We have plenty of opportunities to explore the rugged landscapes of the gorgeous surrounding areas, looking for colorful wildflowers. We also have a landing on Stordalens Haven and hike up to one of the mountain ridges at Stordalens or Kangerdluk fjords.

Prince Christian Sound
Prince Christian Sound

If the group members are fit hikers, we may even bring a tent with us and camp on the mountain, waiting for the sunrise. With some luck, we may witness the beautiful Northern lights dancing across the night sky.

We will visit the southernmost settlement of Greenland - Aappilattoq. Aappilattoq is superbly photogenic, sitting on a perfect natural harbor, with a cleft pyramidal rock face soaring above it. The village surveys an astounding panorama of fjords and bare, spiky peaks. Unbelievably untouched by tourism, the village economy still evolves around seal hunting.

The itinerary is tentative itinerary. We will adjust the itinerary according to the weather to ensure you take as many satisfactory photos, and the priority of this trip is in Tasermiut Fjord.

It is a truly magical experience to laze happily in the 38? hot spring, watching icebergs float by surreally a few hundred meters beyond.

Tonight, our ship is anchored close to Qaqortoq. Qaqortoq is the biggest town in South Greenland. It is an artistic and visually distinctive place. Behind a charming old town square, Qaqortoq?s brightly colored buildings huddle closely together, clinging to a rugged, steep-sided amphitheater. We kindly ask to pay your consumption of alcoholic beverages onboard on the last day in cash in USD or EUR. We do not accept credit cards.

Small Expedition Ship Perfect For Photography Groups
Most expedition cruise ships are loaded with 100 passengers or more. For us, we believe smaller is better, especially for photography. When visiting small Greenlandic communities, you will have a better experience in a small group than in a large group. Our ship can go to remote and least-visited places that many large cruise ships can’t

The average expedition cruise boat currently carries 100 passengers or more, but we believe that smaller is better, especially for photography. When visiting small Greenlandic communities, you will get a far better experience in a small group than in a large one. Our boat can access places that many large cruise ships cannot reach, and it is also easier to spot extraordinary scenery.
