The adventure element is also included as you travel through zodiac boats to Isla Santa Marta and Isla Magdalena, to interact with the Penguin and Sea Lion colonies situated there. Post breakfast, depart for a city tour of Lima. Visit the Old Town, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore attractions like Main Square, Lima’s Cathedral, Larco Museum and Casa Aliaga. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure.
An optional tour of the boardwalk of Barranco and Miraflores can be availed along with a gastronomic experience.
Depart for the airport for your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. Embark on a Cusco City Tour in the afternoon. Visit attractions like Coricancha, also known as The Temple of the Sun, Cathedral in the Main Square, Sacsayhuaman, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay. Return to your hotel for the night.
Post breakfast, explore the valley of Chinchero, a traditional Cusco urban centre located at an elevated point with a beautiful view of the valley. The inhabitants of this area preserve the artisan traditions and the inherited knowledge of the Incas and display them in their clothes and customs. Visit the Living Museum of Yucay, a
centre of Andean handicraft traditions. Have lunch in Ollantaytambo and enjoy a superior Andean gastronomy experience before returning back to your hotel in Chinchero.
Post breakfast, take a train ride to Aguas Calientes. After a short bus ride up the Andes, you arrive at the most important spectacle of all; Machu Picchu. This is a highly revered, one of the new Seven Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Translated to “Old Mountainâ€Â, it is a masterpiece of engineering and architecture that served as a sanctuary and retreat for the Inca Pachacuti. Post exploration of Machu Picchu, head back to Cusco by train for overnight stay at your hotel.
Post breakfast, depart for the airport for your flight to Santiago in Chile. Arrive in the capital city and check into your hotel for the night.
Visit ValparaÃÂso, Chile’s oldest port. The city’s many hills are covered with a multi-coloured panorama of painted houses. Explore the historic city center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Travel to a view-point overlooking the city via one
of ValparaÃÂso’s signature funicular elevators. Also see the parliamentary building and Plaza Sotomayor’s memorial to the heroes of the War of the Pacific. Return to your hotel in Santiago.
Depart for the airport for your flight to Punta Arenas, the southernmost city in Chile and one of the closest cities to Antarctica. Check into your hotel as you arrive in the Patagonia region of South America.
Post breakfast, depart for Isla Santa Marta and Isla Magdalena (islands) by a zodiac raft as chilly winds run past your face. The islands are home to an enormous colony of Magellan penguins, and there are also many other animals to see, including cormorants and petrels. Santa Marta Island also contains a colony of Sea Lions. Visit an environmental interpretation centre which, besides an amazing view, provides information on the Magellan Strait and its ecological richness. Travel back in zodiacs and transfer to your hotel in Puerto Natales for the night.
Leave Puerto Natales early in the morning and cruise north-west in a boat through the Seno Ultima Esperanza (‘Last Hope Sound’), which offers unforgettable views of snowy peaks, sparkling waterfalls, and lush green forests, along with wildlife like sea lions, cormorants, and condors. By noon, reach the two mighty glaciers in Chilean Patagonia. The Patagonia region is considered as a heaven on earth for the beauty it entails. These ice giants truly are grand spectacles that you can see up close by hiking alongside it. Post lunch, journey back to your hotel in Puerto Natales for the night.
Explore the amazing Torres Del Paine National Park in Chilean Patagonia. Cuernos and Torres Massifs with their jagged peaks, as well as of the milky Lake Grey are proof of the unique splendour that Chile has to offer. Spend your day in this natural haven before travelling back to your hotel.
