You will be transferred to your hotel by our representatives. Spend the day at leisure exploring this naturally endowed beautiful island. One of the most amazing things about Svalbard is that during the course of your stay, the sun will never set even once!

Post lunch, proceed to embark the deluxe cruise ship which would be your amazing home for the rest of your journey. Check in to your suite, participate in the safety protocol sessions and an informative brief about your voyage.

3 West Spitzbergen and Polar Ice Edge

As you set sail across Isfjorden, marvel at the breathtaking scenery that immerses you completely. The area of West Spitzbergen is popular for being rich in wildlife. Have abundant opportunities to spot Polar bears, Arctic fox, seals, reindeers and other iconic animals. Avail the optional activity of kayaking to immerse yourself within the panoramic scenery of mountains, ice sheets, fjords and the ocean.

West Spitzbergen and Polar Ice Edge

As you reach the North-West region of the island, the chill in the air and icy waters in this remote region greets you. The ship approaches South Spitzbergen National Park, which is a pristine natural splendor. It hosts arctic tundra, polar deserts, lofty mountain ranges and icy glaciers. The center of this Park is marked by Hornsund, which is a jaw dropping, picturesque fjord in one of the highest regions up on the Earth’s latitude. The park also contains Bellsund, a bay which was used for Whale operations in earlier times. The remains of the operations are still visible from here.

West Spitzbergen and Polar Ice Edge

As the cruise progresses further, the scenery keeps getting better as you reach the crown jewel of Spitzbergen; the North-West Spitzbergen National Park. This park hosts the most remarkable fjords and cascading ice capped mountains one can ever imagine. The ice bergs in this region go deep underwater, giving it a turquoise appearance. Hike along the snow white terrain to explore the mysteries of the North Pole.

West Spitzbergen and Polar Ice Edge

This day marks an adventurous summit as the ship specially takes you to the edge of the polar pack ice. This is the region wherein you get as close as possible to the natural habitat of Seals & Polar bears, having ample opportunities to watch them hunt. This region marks the boundary between solid ice sheets and the open ocean, one of the northern most points in the world.

West Spitzbergen and Polar Ice Edge

The ship navigates close to Ny Ã…lesund, where you can find human habitat. It was a former mining town and air ship base which is now used by Arctic researchers. It also contains a museum and a post office. As we travel further down, catch a glimpse of numerous murres, guillemots and little auks as they return the cold region.

West Spitzbergen and Polar Ice Edge

You spend another day to search for Arctic Wildlife at their best in their natural habitat. Polar bears, arctic fox, walrus, arctic whales and migratory birds are easily visible at multiple locations during the cruise.

West Spitzbergen and Polar Ice Edge

As you nearly return back to the docking port, you cross the Forlandet National Park wherein you can find Prins Karls Forland; one of the best places to spot walruses herded on the land.
