The adventure begins and terminates in the capital city of Ulaanbaatar. Travelers visit attractions of the National History Museum, Tavan Bogd National Park, Potanii Glacier, Mount Malchin, Shiveet Khairkhan Mountain, Khar Saraa Valley, Baavgait Valley and Khoton Lake to enrich themselves with the culture of Mongolia.

Itinerary

1

Arrival in Mongolia / Highlights of Ulaanbaatar
Ulaanbaatar

Arrive at the Ulaanbaatar international airport, in the capital city of Mongolia. Check into your hotel and freshen up. Later, visit the National History Museum followed by Sukhbaatar Square. Have a traditional dinner while watching a local art performance.

Flight to Ulgii
Ulgii

Board a flight to Ulgii, the capital of the westernmost province of Mongolia, resting in the wilderness of the spectacular Altai Mountains. Upon arrival, you will have the afternoon at your leisure to explore the city before heading toward the Tavan Bogd National Park to camp midway for the night.

Tavan Bogd National Park
Tavan Bogd National Park

Post breakfast, continue driving for about 5 hours to reach Altai Tavan Bogd National Park. The massive mountain range in front of you would be so spectacular that you would not be able to keep your camera away. Take a diversion to view some historic rock carvings. Meet the ethnic Tuvan people on reaching the National Park and have an opportunity to interact with them, learning about their culture.

Trek to Potanii Glacier
Potanin Glacier

Post breakfast, embark on a trek to the Potanii Glacier, the largest glacier of Mongolia. After trekking for 16kms, you arrive at the snow white glacier. Have the opportunity of walking on ice and have lunch over here, enjoying the views of Mount Malchin. Return back to the camp for the night where you might meet some Khazakh tribals on the way.

Mount Malchin Summit
Mount Malchin

Trek to Mount Malchin today. The 10km hike (one way) leads you directly to the summit of the mountain (4037m) where you can get panoramic views of the entire Altai Mountain Range. Post lunch, head back to your campsite.

Trek to Shiveet Khairkhan Mountain
Khairkhan

Head to the foothills of the Shiveet Khairkhan Mountain and begin your trek (10km one way). This trail is comparatively easier than the previous day, but is equally scenic. You can spot Tuvan households in the valley and you set camp next to them today. Wildlife like ibex and eagles can be seen in abundance over here.

Khar Saraa Valley
Khar Saraa Valley

Post breakfast, continue your trek to the Khar Saraa Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for it hosts ancient rock carvings, monuments and deer stones dating back to the Paleolithic age. Trek further to the campsite situated at 2450m above sea level.

Baavgait Valley
Baavgait Valley

Spend the day interacting with tribals before embarking on a trek to Takhilt pass, situated at 3600m. This trek will mostly be on snow. Descend down to Baavgait Valley to make camp for the night.

Trek to Khoton Lake
Khoton Lake

Begin your trek to Khoton Lake, passing through lush green forests. The totality of the trek is 30kms. You cover part of it today and make camp for the night in between.

Trek to Khoton Lake
Khoton Lake

By early afternoon you will arrive at Khoton Lake after crossing small pools of glacial waters. Khoton Lake is a lovely span of a pristine, blue water body amidst the Altai Mountains. Set up camp and rest for the day.

Nomadic Interaction
Nomadic Interaction

Lake Khoton is where a number of Khazakh tribals live. You will be able to notice that their gers (camps) are larger than the Tuvan and Mongol tribes. Spend the day interacting with them and learning traditional ways of cooking.

Drive to Uglii
Ulgii

Post breakfast, meet your driver and drive back to Uglii. You will pass a few nomadic Kazakh and Tuva gers, perhaps stopping to take a look at the textiles and accessories for sale.

Flight to Ulaanbaatar
Ulaanbaatar

Board a plane to the capital city of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and spend the entire day at your leisure. Shop around or discover boutique restaurants or cafes.

Departure for Airport
Ulaanbaatar

Post breakfast, depart for the airport for your flight back home as your amazing trekking experience of the Mongolian Altai Mountains culminates.

Cancellation Policy
The package price will be deducted as per the following conditions strictly. No refund will be entertained without receiving a cancellation request effective from the date of receipt of the letter. 

  • Notice less than 60-46 days:  25% cost will be deducted
  • Notice less than 45-31 days:  50% cost will be deducted
  • Notice less than  30 days:    No Refund

Note: No refund will be given to people who are unable to complete the trip or abandon it due to any reasons.
Terms & Conditions
  • The digital copy of the Indemnity form duly filled, signed and emailed to the company along with the booking amount. 
  • It will be deemed that the booking & payment policy is accepted by the clients while making the bookings with the first deposit amount. 
  • If the client is forced to cancel the booking prior to departure, the cancellation policy will be followed.
  • In case of any delay beyond our control, the client will have to bear extra cost for the extra days as per the option chosen on per day basis.
  • Please  note  and  be  well  informed  that  there  will  be  no  refund  of  money  after the package commences and if one cannot complete activity or gets sick enroute. 
  • The cost is for the entire package and there would be no refunds in case any part of the package is not availed.
 
COMPANY LIABILITY
  1. It is in the nature of a holiday of this kind to be flexible. The day-to-day agenda and ultimate goal of the tour is taken as an aim and not as a contractual obligation. We shall not be responsible for the delays or alterations in the program or expenses incurred due to conflict, international or internal flight delay or cancellations, strikes, sickness, weather, war, vehicle problems, political closures and disputes.
  2. The  booking  is  accepted  on  the  understanding  that  you  realize  the  potential  risks  and hazards that can be involved in holidays of this kind. The organiser along with our leaders/guides and anyone else working in association with us cannot be held responsible for any death, accident or mishap that may occur in connection with any part of, or services connected with the holiday. 
  3. Before the guests come on a holiday, they must be covered by insurance, which has to include the cost of helicopter rescue, evacuation and cost of repatriation if they become too ill to continue. It is recommended that the travel insurance should cover adventure activities undertaken. We can help you incase required
  4. The Company would not be liable to pay any kind of compensation arising because of any mishap, sickness, accident etc.
